What is the philosophy behind GroovZone for tennis?

Tennis is a particularly difficult sport to learn. It takes months of expensive lessons court time. Even then the results are mixed as the level of coaching can be uncertain. The idea behind GroovZone is that instead of verbal feedback, the learner receives sensory feedback. GroovZone  stabilizes the playing hand in the ideal hitting position for each stroke. All the learner has to do is to follow the simple video exercises shown in the GroovZone website Instructional page. After a few swings without hitting a ball, the playing hand becomes comfortable with the device, becomes aware of the point of contact and is off and running. It’s all about feel. A couple of tennis lessons may be helpful, but GroovZone is designed to help learn the sport at home and then hit the courts running, so to speak.

All top players have very good bio mechanics. The power is transferred from the legs, via the hips and shoulders to the arm. GroovZone induces this bio mechanical chain very quickly and painlessly. With awareness of the point of contact, the knees and feet instinctively move into the correct position in order to avoid interaction with GroovZone. The awareness and learning process becomes almost instant. Once the bio mechanics are attained, it’s a simple matter to add wrist or “Lag” with the comfort that you can always return to the proper swing if needed. Any technical questions may be addressed to our Tech Panel.

The sizing is displayed on the website as well as on the carton. The large size fits most men and grown boys. Women and children will be more comfortable with the medium size. If in doubt, choose large. If the large device is too loose, just add a handkerchief or piece of soft cloth between the device and the hand. This will also provide added comfort. GroovZone comes in left and right handed devices. Choose the dominant hand. It will cover everything except the ball toss. For the ball toss, the non dominant hand device may be purchased at a significant discount. This will also help with the two handed backhand.

GroovZone has been used by Davis Cup players, ATP pros, several NCAA coaches as well as beginners. Professional coaches have marveled at the ease with which their students learn the basics. The pronation of the wrist on the serve is attained almost instantly because the device does not permitted the laying back of the wrist.

GroovZone is useful for any sport where the stabilization of the wrist is of significance. We have witnessed astonishing results in golf putting and irons as well as seam bowling in cricket. For golf drivers, using the left hand device permits the cocking of the right hand wrist, yet brings the club down perfectly. We are experimenting with its uses in other sports.
